I've been tutoring for six years, supporting students from KS3 through to A-Level as well as university and medical school applicants. Sessions are tailored to the individual student, their specification and the areas they want to work on, with particular experience of WJEC qualifications.

How I teach

Every student is different, so I don't use exactly the same approach with everyone. I usually start by working out where the gaps are, what the student is currently doing at school or college, and what they're working towards. From there, sessions can combine teaching, worked examples, exam questions and exam technique depending on what they need most.

I also put together personalised resources where useful, including revision notes, key definitions, past-paper questions and examiner guidance, so there's something to go back to between sessions.

MSc Research Project

Tissue Engineering for Regenerative Medicine — Distinction, University of Manchester

"Investigating Ferritin as a Biomarker of Iron Dysregulation in Chronic Venous Leg Ulcers: Effects of Lipodermatosclerosis, Dressing Type, and Iron-Induced Fibroblast Toxicity"

This research explored how iron imbalance influences wound healing in chronic venous leg ulcers, deepening my interest in the mechanisms underlying chronic ulceration and in developing improved approaches for wound healing and regenerative medicine.

Carried out with Professor Sarah Herrick, focusing on chronic venous leg ulcers and wound healing, including ferritin and iron dysregulation.

I'm particularly interested in a future surgical career combining clinical practice with research and teaching.

04 — ABOUT

A bit about me

I'm originally from Neath in South Wales and moved to Manchester to study Medicine in 2021. Along the way, I intercalated to complete an MSc in Tissue Engineering for Regenerative Medicine, graduating with Distinction, before returning to Medicine for my final two years.

I've tutored alongside my studies for the past six years and really enjoy teaching — whether that's helping someone get their head around a topic they've been struggling with or working towards an exam or university application.

Outside medicine and tutoring, I've trained in karate for over a decade and hold a first-dan black belt. I've also been involved with the University of Manchester's Welsh Society and previously captained the university karate club.
